Mass Ministry

Lector

The ministry of Lector is an important and meaningful service to the Church. During Mass, Lectors are entrusted with proclaiming the Word of God so everyone who gathers can hear, understand, and reflect on God’s message.

Serving as a Lector is more than simply reading aloud. Through thoughtful preparation, clear proclamation, and reverence for Sacred Scripture, Lectors help bring God’s Word to life and invite the congregation to listen with open hearts.

Usher

The most important role of an usher is hospitality. Ushers are often the first people parishioners meet, helping set the tone for a welcoming parish.

A warm smile, friendly greeting, and willingness to help can make everyone—especially visitors—feel at home. By creating a welcoming environment, ushers help build a strong parish community and prepare people to fully participate in the celebration of the liturgy.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion

Sharing the gift Jesus gave us—His Body and Blood—makes us a community. Your ministry brings that great gift to his people.  It requires the utmost reverence and respect.  You make Christ present to others.

Mass Server

Altar serving is a special ministry in the church. Altar servers help the priest during the Mass. Boys and girls can serve from fourth grade through high school and college. Even adults can be altar servers. When we serve God in church, we learn how to serve God outside of church. We do this by helping people in need, caring for each other and the earth, and loving people no one else loves. That’s how we really serve God!
